When I got Linux Pro Magazine, issue March 2008, there was a DVD included "Mandriva 2008 Power Pack". I have an old machine and I decided to give it a shut and try this Linux distribution.
I work with Linux systems a lot and like most of Linux gang, I like to use shell. The truth is, to be able to work with Linux systems you need to use shell a lot and the GUIs are not that complete to cover all the tasks. To my surprise, after I installed Mandriva 2008, I saw that this was the first distro that covered more than 90% of what ones need through GUI. I tried KDE and it was impressive.
For a personal use, Mandriva 2008 seams to be much better than other systems, especially Windows!
